The Attic Cafe - Fremantle

Yesterday, was our lovely Angela's birthday.

Happy Birthday Numpty Face!!

It was a Sunday, the sun was shining, birds were chirping and our tummies were empty... Clearly, we had no other option than to celebrate - Breakfast Style.

Both being lovers of all things Fremantle, we decided on The Attic, on Bannister Road. If you knew nothing about this little cafe and were looking for somewhere to cure your overnight hunger, you'd probably poke your head in the tiny door way and think "Oh they only do coffee - bail".

But, if you're as curious as us (or just as hungry) then you'll wonder "What on earth is up that beautiful old stair case!?".

There's an Attic!! (bet you didn't see that one coming?)... A gorgeous open plan wooden attic awaits, with long rustic tables and comfy couches, perfect for cosy breakfast experiences.

Now onto the food...

Unfortunately our coffee was slightly burnt, but it was strong - and we love strong coffee. It was served with lovely coffee art and prompted both of us to go "Awwwww" when it was popped on our table. They also offer a small variety of fresh juices as well as teas. Tick!

The menu offers a slightly different variety of breakfast food; I decided on the granola, with berry compote and natural yoghurt, while Angie went for The Attic's famous 'baked' eggs. Other options included, a green wrap with eggs, spinach & avocado  and avocado, white cheese & lime on toast. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals but neither of us could finish them! The meals are BIG, which is always a treat. Tick!

The service was friendly and the atmosphere of the cafe was gorgeous. It was loud enough to hold your conversation (without fear of judgement), but quiet enough to chill out over a cup of tea and the Sunday Newspaper. Tick!

To me this cafe is not only a lovely place to visit, but the start of things to come in Fremantle. Lane way cafes and bars are popping up everywhere and it couldn't have come at a better time!
