What's Old is New

Why can't food be cyclical in nature like fashion? Vintage clothes and kitsch home-wares are all the rave, so why can't steak dianne and 'vienetta' iceream cakes make a come back? There is probably good reason...nay, there is definitely good reason! But how fun and fanciful is the idea of having a bad taste food party? We've all done it with fancy dress before - so why not take our palates on a nostalgic trip down memory lane this Christmas too??

I recommend gathering a group of your closest buddies (to ensure no judgement is bestowed upon your dishes of choice - remind all guests via their invitations that this soiree is a 'gourmet', 'modern Australian' and 'fusion' free zone). You'll need to gather your supplies, I recommend starting with your nanna's punch bowl, bad cask wine and those old golden circle recipe books your mum still keeps in the back of the pantry - these are sure to provide the necessary inspiration.
