Encaustic Tile obsession

I am a bit obsessed with Encaustic Tiles. I want them everywhere; in the bathroom, in the kitchen, the entry way, inside, outside... OH.MY.WORD!

5 Things I'm loving right now

1. Mad Men {TV series}

What's not to love about this award winning TV series? The era, the fashion, the drama! Oh my! If only I wasn't almost finished the 5th season without having access to the sixth yet!

2. Yves Saint Laurent - Rouge Pur Couture

Colour 01

Angela introduced me to this beauty a couple of weeks ago. It's by far one of the loveliest red lipsticks I've seen and remains flawless no matter how much champagne you drink!

3.  Faux flowers + Crystal

The gorgeous crystal Vera Wang vase we were given for our wedding "swooooooon" and the amazingly lifelike Peonies that fill it, which I bought from Trilogy.

4. Brown Rice Cups

O.M.G. Best snack or filling side to any 'on-the-go' meal! At $2.99 for this little pack, they're not the cheapest way to enjoy brown rice, but boy is it easy! I am currently enjoying them with a tin of Greenseas flavoured tuna (tomato and capsicum of course).

5. My new art work

An unfortunate photo, but here they are in our entry way!

As soon as I saw these pop up on my Etsy feed, I knew I needed them. I don't know a lot about art, but what I do know is that it is subjective. Unfortunately Geordie isn't the biggest fan, but apparently they're growing on him. If you love them as much as I do, you can find them here at only $34 a pop.

What's in a Package: Judging a Book by it's Cover.

I am an advertising exec's dream...I will buy almost anything if it is beautifully packaged. No really, I bought a $55 bottle of scotch for the bottle (I don't drink scotch). Once upon a time a lot of effort was put into packaging, with items often being hand stamped and wrapped. These days there is a lot of thought put into packaging, but too often the "pretty" factor is missing. Here are but a few of my favourites that I have and/or would buy purely based on looks.

My top pick has to be these soup cups by Nusa Kitchens...I can see myself snuggled up on the couch with my knitting and this cup of soup...genius!

Toast to the host with the most

With the silly season fast approaching, there's no better time to pop the bubbly (or at least stock up your supplies) and toast to family, good friends and the end of another crazy year!

Now I'm no champagne snob by any means, give me a bottle of Brown Brothers sparkling and I'm happy. However, for that extra special occasion, the limited edition Veuve Clicquot le fridge for $119.99 (bottle included) would make a fabulous kitsch offering to your favourite party host. Created exclusively by French designer Denis Boudard for Veuve Clicquot, the cooler chills your bubbles for up to 2 hours.

Available from Vintage Cellars in Brut or Rose (couldnt figure out how to put the accent on the 'e'... but you know what I mean). Happy 'almost' Holidays!

Crafternoon: Things to make and love using hessian

For the lovers of all things rustic, this one is for you... 10 things to make using hessian.
For comfort
For organisation

For dining

For love

For love

For Christmas spirit
For those who don't particularly like the feel of hessian, but love the look, try calico + brown string for the same effect.

"She'd look good in a potato sack..." - Well apparently everything does.
